WHAT IS A DOULA?

A doula provides education and support during pregnancy and helps you create a birth plan. During labor a doula gives physical and emotional support, as well as helping you advocate for your birth preferences. A doula is a great support for both the mother and her partner.
A doula does not provide clinical care or give medical advice.

prenatal support

During our 2-3 prenatal visits we will discuss your birth plan and I will provide you with evidenced based information to help you with your birth preferences. We will also go over helpful positions, comfort measures, and exercises to prepare you emotionally for birth.
birth support

During your birth I will show up to support you and your partner as soon as you are ready for me. I will help with the comfort measures you have chosen, help you and your partner stay fed and hydrated, help advocate when needed, and be your biggest cheerleader.
postpartum support

In the first few weeks after you have your baby we can plan 1-2 visits for me to come talk about your experience, provide you with a meal, help with cleaning, and provide you with any additional resources you might need.

Meet the doula

Hello, I’m Angela. I am a birth doula and birth photographer in Northern Utah. I serve Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, and Morgan Counties.

My passion for supporting families through pregnancy and birth is something I have had in me since I was a child. I spent a few years working in a clinical setting when I decided doula work best fit how I desire to care for families during pregnancy and birth.

I am a certified doula and VBAC doula and in 2023 I began training as a birth photographer. I love supporting women through the birth process. Through my work as a doula and from my own five birth experiences I have learned that no birth unfolds the same, but every family deserves to come through it feeling supported and loved.
